A Celebration
of Friends and Great Times
Will someone please explain to me why food
tastes so good when we are camping out and fishing? Isn't it
amazing the gourmet meals we can cook over a two burner propane
little grill but don't have enough room in our kitchens to do
anything!

For some reason fly fishing makes you hungry and
thirsty.
Fly fishermen like to get together. We like to
honor our friends and those that have contributed so much to
our sport and art. What more can be said of a group of men is
that they appreciate each other.

Jack Hunter with the
late Charlie Fox at the Letort Regulars´ Banquet for Charlie.
Jack is the unofficial leader of this somewhat esoteric and
eccentric group.
Where do these discussions come from? They come
from the souls of fly anglers always wanting to learn more and
more about their art. The Letort Picnic was one such place of
learning.

Tom Henry,
the late Ross Trimmer and Al Smeltz have a lively
discussion on fly patterns at the
picnic.
I shouldn't
even talk about this because I spent over 4 weeks
straight or was it 6 on Penns Creek with Bill Samuelson
and friend one summer. I'm trying to remember if I
had to work back then or did I have a rich
girlfriend?

Bill Samuelson cooks lunch. Did I tell you we
eat a lot? It´s simply amazing, most people go camping and
lose weight. We come back having gained 15
pounds. I really can´t figure it
out.
