Big Spring Creek

The following photos are from The Fish Survey in August by The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

PFBC biologist holds up a large brown during this survey.  There are a few very large browns in Big Spring ranging from 16 to 29 inches.

A massive rainbow from the recent survey. Rainbows are doing quite well in Big Spring.  Reprodcution rates are high with many large fish throughout the stream.

A large brown trout is being measured and released. Notice the thickness of the fish.  These fish are in very good condition as would be expected in these limestone waters.

A native brook trout from Big Spring.  The fish are making amazing comeback.  The upper areas of the stream are just loaded with these fish.

Another wild brook trout.  This one of course another year class.  The fish are just beautiful.
